In Windows – default user profile location is “c:\users” it means all users data (desktop,documents,downloads and appdata etc.) save in “c:\users\” location. sometimes it creates trouble when your os currupt and cant repair it. for solution you have to repair or reinstall os without format but still data lose chances. there is one solution for change user profile location without third party softwares so you can free to format or reinstall operating system in “c” drive.
By Default Users profile Stored In C Drive. To Change Its Default Location Follow Steps
Note: I Am Moving Administrator’s profile
Step – 1
– Create One User Which Have Administrator Rights. I Am Crating Test User
Make That User To Administrators Group Member
Step – 2
Login With Test User And Copy Entire Administrator Profile
Step – 3
Copy Administrator’s Profile Data From C:\Users
Past It To Where You Wants To Change Location. i Am Placing It To D:\Users
Step – 4
– Edit Registry
Computer\HKEY_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
in ProfileList big noumber list appears find there User Profile Which you Wants To Move.
Check ProfileImagePath
Replace With your New Profile Location
For Testing Purpose i Am Creating Test Folder In Administrators Desktop
Logout And login With Administrator
